Olivia Nelson Shelton

Olivia Nelson Shelton started learning music as a child and grew up to become a Wake Forest University Music Education major. Her career was as a music teacher for Stokes County schools. She plays a variety of stringed, brass, and percussion instruments including piano, bass, guitar, and French horn, is a wonderful singer, and specializes in writing children’s songs. Olivia says she finds it easier to write melodies than lyrics but credits the Danbury Songwriters with helping her overcome this limitation that may only exist in her imagination.
