Steve Shelton

Steve Shelton is a classically trained band director/ percussionist, specializing in tympani, snare and mallets...resulting in skills that transferred readily to hammer dulcimer, open back banjo and banjo uke. He likes and writes quirky story-based songs. His "Demon Deacon Drum Beat", written while a student at Wake Forest University, remains a mainstay at WFU football & basketball games, and was a featured part of the marching band's 2007 Orange Bowl performance. He is known in the "Old Time" festival circuit for restoring and dealing banjos and even odder instruments."
